About the programme

Start with the microscopic detail and work your way up. That’s what our process engineers do. Join them and you’ll help us develop robust, innovative solutions to extraordinary challenges. Over the two year programme, you’ll work with cutting-edge technology and build your experience in anything from submarine and commercial marine projects to next-generation construction projects including liquid gas engineering projects.

Process Engineering at Babcock

There’s so much you could potentially do at Babcock . You might find yourself working on submarine projects or commercial marine programmes. Equally, you might help decommission old nuclear power plants or create new ones. You may also be addressing the increasing importance of lower global emissions as Babcock develops solutions specifically targeted at assisting ship owners and operators reduce their environmental footprint. What’s certain is that you’ll immerse yourself in cutting-edge technologies and gain the experiences needed to develop a specialism in this technical discipline.

 

 

What you'll need

  • A 2:2 MEng degree in Chemical Engineering (or similar)
  • To be able to satisfy the MOD’s and our customer’s security requirements (you may need to complete a medical assessment).

What you'll get

You’ll get our full support on your road to becoming an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer. And while you’re working towards it, you can help us get school kids excited about becoming engineers too, through our work with a wide variety of STEM initiatives with a number of local schools.

Your career development

Where you'll be based

But no matter which team you join, you could be based anywhere in the UK. That’s why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme.

Located within the business at Rosyth, Babcock LGE has a proven track record in developing world leading, innovative technologies for the development and supply of Gas Handing Systems. Through expert engineering, procurement, project management and aftermarket support – combined with world-leading technologies – Babcock LGE delivers enhanced operational efficiency, environmental legislation compliance and cost-effective solutions to shipyards and ship owners worldwide.

Your home base will be our Rosyth facility, but some of your placements may be at other Marine sector locations, therefore you will need to be ready and willing to move to other sites throughout your programme.
