Physics at Cavendish Nuclear

You’ll be based in our radiometric instrument laboratories at Sellafield in Cumbria for the four years of your programme. In that time, you’ll design, test, calibrate and take care of the instrumentation that measures all types of radiation for our clients’ sites around the world. This will give you all the experience you need to get your head around the technical detail and develop an understanding of how this part of our business contributes to our success.

What you'll need

  • A 2:1 (Hons) degree in Physics. And because the programme is accredited by the IOP,  IMechE and IET, it is desirable that your degree is accredited by one of these institutions too
  • To be able to satisfy the MoD’s and ONR security requirements (you may need to complete a medical assessment)
